Leaving the summer behind, we hit the hot asphalt with David Carradine in Death Race 2000. A classic Corman production, the movie was Carradine's first work past Kung Fu. It was also the first offer he got after said series, which he jumped on due to fears about being "the kung fu guy" and fading into obscurity. Oh yeah.. the (blog post) movie..

27 Days Later (2002) - The post-apocalyptic film about an infectious disease that turns human beings to scream-stricken zombies is a an intense, visceral film. Its direction by (blog post) Danny Boyle is masterful, and the performances by the actors, particularly Cillian Murphy, are all excellent.
